Assistant Attorney General - Child Support Enforcement - Chicago
Description: The Public Aid Bureau represents the Department of Healthcare and Family Services or the Department of Human Services in child support enforcement actions. Specifically, the Bureau represents the Departments in personal injury lien recoveries, decedent and incompetent estate liens and claims, administrative review, excess assistance recoveries, and miscellaneous matters.
Qualifications: The Bureau seeks an Assistant Attorney General who can prepare and try cases in state and federal court; interview witnesses, prepare pleadings, conduct research for trials; respond to pretrial motions; attend various courts for arraignments, hearings, pretrial and post-trial motions; and prepare periodic activity reports. Knowledge of the principles of civil and criminal law and of the methods and practices of pleading and discovery are necessary. This position will require travel to counties other than Cook.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, the salary range is $50,500 to $67,500. Candidates must be licensed at the time of application. Experienced candidates are preferred.
