The John Marshall Law School seeks a full-time Assistant Director of Career Services to provide a wide range of career counseling and programming services to students and alumni. The Assistant Director will counsel students (J.D., LL.M. and M.S.) and alumni about career options and the job search process, educate students about the job market, critique resumes and cover letters, conduct mock interviews, and provide individualized career guidance. In addition, this person will perform outreach to legal employers and alumni to increase employment opportunities for students and graduates. The Assistant Director will develop and present student programming, create handouts and other materials which support the student job search, assist with the on-campus interviewing program, gather employment data, and perform other functions necessary for the advancement of the Career Services Office.
Qualifications: J.D. or M.A. in counseling required. Prior legal experience, knowledge of legal markets, counseling or recruiting background, and/or experience working with law students desired. The successful candidate will have strong managerial, interpersonal, public speaking, and organizational skills. True passion for working with law students and counseling required.
