The Special Litigation Bureau of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office is seeking attorneys who want to challenge themselves by working on complex and high-profile cases. We seek attorneys with sound judgment and excellent research and writing skills. A strong candidate will have a demonstrated interest in and enthusiasm for litigation, trial, and appellate work. A strong candidate will also have 3-5 years of litigation experience and a demonstrated commitment to public service.
The Special Litigation Bureau pursues, prosecutes, and defends complex and challenging cases. The Bureau pursues two kinds of affirmative litigation: fraud on the state/consumers and public policy impact cases. The Bureau seeks important and high-profile matters. It strives to institute reform on an industry-wide basis. The Bureau compliments its affirmative civil litigation with the prosecution of white collar criminal cases, involving general fraud, securities fraud, and theft. In addition to its plaintiff and prosecution litigation, the Bureau occasionally defends state agencies where important principles and/or programs are involved.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, the salary range is $50,500 to $67,500. Candidates must have 3-5 years of litigation experience and be licensed by the State of
