Division: Public Access and Opinions/ Freedom of Information Act/Open Meeting Act

Description: The Public Access and Opinions Division is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Attorney General to assist the Public Access Counselor with issues relating to the Freedom of Information Act and Open Meetings Act. Candidates must possess excellent legal research and writing skills. Candidates must also be able to communicate effectively with citizens, government officials and members of the media. Former journalism or local government experience with both the Freedom of Information Act and Open Meetings Act is preferred. Candidates must be licensed in Illinois at the time of application. Newly licensed attorneys are not eligible; instead the ideal candidate will have two or more years of experience.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, the salary range is $43,000 to $60,000.
