Tasks Include:

  • Prepare documents and pleadings
  • Perform database searches
  • Type and transcribe correspondence
  • Open new matters
  • Create & maintain Access databases
  • Organizing files
  • Close files
  • Assist in timekeeping and billing
  • Obtain information requested by clients
  • Follow up with clients
  • Assist with spreadsheets and power point presentations
  • Any project assigned

Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience
  • Proficient with MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access
  • Proficient typist capable of transcribing dictation
  • Typing speed of at least 70 wpm
  • Able to support attorney team of five
  • Able to work with other support staff
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree a plus
  • English required, Spanish speaking plus
  • Able to generate real estate documents
  • Must be curious and hard working

Assistant Attorney General - Public Access and Opinions

The Opinions Bureau is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Attorney General.  The Opinions Bureau is responsible for advising State officers and State’s Attorneys on matters related to their official duties.  Frequently, advice is given in the form of official and informal opinions of the Attorney General.  The issues addressed in the opinions may include civil and criminal matters, the application of State and Federal law and the construction of statutory and constitutional provisions.  Thus, attorneys will be responsible for researching the issues and drafting opinions.  Candidates must have excellent research and writing skills.  Former judicial clerkship experience is preferred.  New graduates are not eligible for this position.

Salary:            Commensurate with qualifications and experience, the salary range is $43,000 to $60,000.

Assistant Attorney General Workers' Compensation Bureau - Chicago

The Workers' Compensation Bureau defends the State of Illinois in workers’ compensation claims filed by State employees on arbitration and review.  In addition, the Bureau prosecutes employers under the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act for failure to maintain workers’ compensation insurance coverage for employees and defends claims filed against the Second Injury Fund and the Rate Adjustment Fund.  The Bureau also provides advice to State agencies on the Workers’ Compensation Act.  


Commensurate with qualifications and experience, the salary range is $43,000 to $60,000.  Candidates must either have 2-4 years of general litigation experience or at least 1 year of experience in the workers’ compensation field.  Newly licensed attorneys will not be considered.
