Walgreen's Attorney Posting

The Walgreen Company is the leading U.S. drugstore chain in sales, store growth and technology use. The company's strategy is to be the nation's most convenient healthcare provider. Sales for fiscal 2005 topped $42 billion produced by more than 5000 stores located in 44 states and Puerto Rico. With over 425 store openings per year, Walgreen's will operate over 7000 stores by 2010.

Responsibilities: Attorney will act as corporate counsel for Walgreen's in the area of employment and labor law.

Excellent leadership skills with a background of corporate exposure, superior communication skills (i.e., written and verbal)

This individual will have well-rounded interpersonal skills, an executive presence and the ability to influence with credibility, analysis and judgment. Strong interpersonal, relationship building and presentation skills will facilitate success as a service provider to business units.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in employment litigation, personnel matters and traditional labor matters i.e. contract negotiation, grievance and arbitration proceedings). J.D. degree is required. Experience with EO/AA desirable.
