Assistant Attorney General Workers' Compensation Bureau - Chicago
The Workers Compensation Bureau defends the State of Illinois in workers’ compensation claims filed by State employees on arbitration and review. In addition, the Bureau prosecutes employers under the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act for failure to maintain workers’ compensation insurance coverage for employees and defends claims filed against the Second Injury Fund and the Rate Adjustment Fund. The Bureau also provides advice to State agencies on the Workers’ Compensation Act.
Commensurate with qualifications and experience, the salary range is $43,000 to $60,000. Candidates must either have 2-4 years of general litigation experience or at least 1 year of experience in the workers’ compensation field. Newly licensed attorneys will not be considered.
