Assistant Director of Career Services
The Assistant Director will help conduct outreach to employers in the private and public sectors through correspondence, telephone calls, meetings, and attendance at alumni functions, job fairs, and conferences. In addition, the Assistant Director will assist with program and event planning, job fairs, and employment data collection and analysis.
Qualifications: J.D. or M.A. degree in student development or counseling required; prior legal experience preferred. Prior counseling or recruiting background and/or experience working with law students desired. True passion for working with law students and counseling required. The Office of the Illinois Attorney General is seeking to fill the Bureau Chief position in its Civil Rights Bureau. The Civil Rights Bureau investigates alleged civil rights violations, including allegations of pattern and practice discrimination under the Illinois Human Rights Act, and litigates to enforce civil rights laws.
The next Bureau Chief should have at least 10 years experience, be a skilled litigator, and have excellent communication skills.
The Civil Rights Bureau Chief oversees the investigations and cases handled by the Civil Rights Bureau, works closely with the Illinois Attorney General on civil rights issues, represents the Attorney General in the field, and supervises the Civil Rights Bureau's Assistant Attorneys General.

Assistant / Associate General Counsel
The Illinois Hospital Association, Naperville, Illinois, is seeking an Assistant or Associate General Counsel. The title will depend on the experience of the applicant. Prefer applicants who have represented health care associations or health care providers.
The Illinois Hospital Association is a trade association representing virtually every hospital in Illinois. IHA represents the interests of Illinois hospitals on health policy issues before the state and federal government. IHA also has several related entities that offer a variety of services to member hospitals.
The primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:
§ Compliance with the state or federal laws governing IHA and its related companies. Examples of areas of law: contract, employment, tax, information technology, intellectual property, antitrust, corporate governance, lobbying/election laws.
§ Performing policy / advocacy work on statutory, regulatory, or judicial issues confronting IHA member hospitals. Examples of this type of work include: analyzing legislation, regulations, and court decisions; drafting position papers, testimony, and comment letters; drafting legislation and regulations; drafting amicus briefs; and informing members about new statutes, regulations, and court decisions.
This full-time position reports to General Counsel. The position requires excellent writing and speaking skills, including the ability to explain legal issues to non-attorneys.
